There are several obvious advantages to Bakery Food Trucks: Low initial cost and low overhead compared to establishing another location. Furthermore, word of mouth from your existing customers, leveraging your existing restaurant kitchen space. However, there are some disadvantages as well. Some of these disadvantages can be overcome with some creativity.

Perhaps the most obvious disadvantage is the limited menu that is provided on the food trucks themselves. A possible solution would be to offer a take-out service along with the food truck menu. This would allow for the addition of items such as pizza or take-out.

A benefit here would be additional revenue as well as the ability to accommodate growth. By this, I mean expanding to other locations, like a cafeteria-style atmosphere or a coffeehouse-style atmosphere. These are just some of the ideas that can be considered.

While there are many advantages to owning a food truck business, there are also some clear disadvantages. Here are some thoughts to consider as you think about your decision. The advantages are many and the disadvantages are few. By now I assume that you have decided to start a food truck business based upon some personal and professional interest in helping others. That’s great, but will it pay off?

The advantages when you own your food trucks are fairly obvious. You have the flexibility to serve many different locations for free advertising. In addition, you will have the flexibility to increase your menu and even add on special events. Many people are willing to pay more for a hot dog and a frozen drink, versus driving up and serving a customer a different sandwich or meal from one location only.

But the biggest advantage of owning a food truck is the incredible amount of free advertising that they receive. Every time you drive around a city you will see different food trucks serving different types of foods from one location to another.

They can serve a free lunch while you wash dishes in the sink at home, while you shop in the local mall, while you’re pumping gas in your car, etc. The amazing thing about this is that the majority of the population never stops noticing these ads. It’s like someone flipping a switch inside their head and a billboard suddenly pops up right in front of their face.

The advantages of owning your food truck are somewhat hidden. The main advantage is the amount of money that you will make from each vehicle that you own. Depending on the menu that you choose to serve and whether or not you will have an expanded menu, your income can be extremely high. So large that some restaurants have to turn down orders for new menus because they cannot afford the expense.

The disadvantages of owning your restaurant instead of a food truck are fairly obvious. The need to constantly buy new ingredients, worry about parking permits, and the hassle of having to constantly remodel the kitchen to serve the new menu that is being served.
